The Good Life, Season 2, Episode 2

ree

Hello there!

This week we continued our study of the Sermon on the Mount. (If you were absent, click here to watch the sermon back--you won’t want to miss it!) Also, our apologies for missing a week of blog posts, but we are glad to be back and jumping back into this series!

In 2025, we want to focus in on finding purpose. Each of us has an idea of what “the good life” looks like, but Jesus challenges us to rethink “the good life” through the lens of God’s Kingdom. With that in mind, here are some resources we’ve curated for you based on the Scripture passage we read and the message from Sunday.

This Sermon contains some of Jesus’ essential teachings that are still relevant for Christians today, and we want to encourage you to engage with this message throughout the week, not only on Sundays. With that in mind, here are some resources we’ve curated for you based on the Scripture passage we read and the message from Sunday!

Matthew 6:5-8 NIV

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Finally, here are some questions that you can use in your personal study to reflect on, whether in journaling, prayer, or conversation.

Am I inviting Jesus to intimacy in my prayer life, or am I just going through the motions? What might it look like for me to be fully vulnerable in my prayer time?

Know that you are deeply loved and called to share that love with others. We hope to see you next week as we continue to learn and grow alongside you!
